In the vids you show the drop character and it's leaning to the left, but in the bai character it's leaning to the right. I don't want to get too picky here, but I feel the need to... so how is that the same character? They're facing different ways.

And what do you mean by 'drop' anyway? Especially in the case of bai it's not dropping anything I can think of. It turns day into white, so where's the drop? thanks, I'm enjoying the course so far.

According to the dictionary, that 'drop' at the top of 白 is not a radical. It is part of the character as a whole, which may be why it is not sloping the same direction. I think that radicals are also detached from the character, not touching it, but I could be wrong.
