Can anyone tell me how to pronounce the C in Chinese? I understand it's like cats , ts at the end, but when I listen to it, it sounds more the letter T with a puff of air......I hardly hear the S . So, can anyone help me with this? I'd appreciate it!
Hello, The /s/ part of the /ts/ can be very short. When we say "cats", the /s/ can be about half a second long, but in, "Look at the cats over there.", the "cats over" are squashed together, which is closer but not exactly the same as the /ts/ sound you are experiencing in Chinese.
