We want to offer 1-1 peer teaching or live group-sessions along with our video course. If you're interested please help us by answering some questions here. https://teachwithdewey.typeform.com/to/VUt79K
Is there any kind of estimated time line on this? As I will need to be speaking a lot over the summer , would prefer to do it via Domino.
Hi Simon, We're working on this at the moment and will look to take on a smaller group very soon. Stay updated!
Cheers Felix.
Hey, beside the overall timeline it would of course also be interesting to know the average time you need to put in per week to succeed.
Really looking forward to see your proposal as I would possibly one of the first participants when structured nicely.
This would be an amazing addition to the membership for all of us.
Any timeline for this? As I am getting ready to book a load of hours on italki but would prefer to do it in house at Domino.
Is there any update on this? I was holding out for it but if it not coming fairly son then I have another option here in Taiwan I can join. Please give us a rough idea when this course will be active.
I have a HSK-1 and HSK-2 question. Maybe someone can help me. How many lessons in Domino will take me to HSK-1 level and then how many to HSK-2 ? I just finished Level 1 - 5 chapters but I see I cannot and answer all HSK-1 questions. Thanks!
Hi Sylvain, it seems that each level is made up of 5 chapters each. So Level 1 and Level 2 equal HSK 1 and Level 3 and 4 equal HSK 2. You can check the details at dominochinese.com/courses.
Thank You @Mebious_ ! Not that I want to pass any exam, but it's just good to know where I stand in my progress line, with respect to the recognized standard in China. Personally I prefer Domino's method without hard set rules, which is more enjoyable to learn.
Look at the courses page and then click 'View Details', there is a blue bar at the bottom of some of the level cards with the HSK level written on them.
yea great ! I found the blue lines. Thanks.
A question re 'Path to HSK4' is this still going ahead? Of so please update. Also is it going to cover the old HSK 4 or is covering the new HSK3.0 being released this year which changes the entire structure of the HSK?
@Simon, where did you find official confirmation that the new HSK is going to be released this year? Because so far I've only seen vague information about a restructured "9 levels" system back before the summer and a lot of speculation on how this is going to work, but as far as I know there isn't anything on the official channels that says the system is going to change this year.
@Elisa back earlier in the year they said this year.....maybe COVID delayed it but there is an image of the post where they said this year here in this link: https://ltl-school.com/new-hsk/
What?! We will know over 2,000 words and still be a beginner? That's not very encouraging.
Yeah the new structure is a bit daunting, will follow the A1-C2 Structure more closely so the bar is moving. I guess either way we need to know this stuff....I am over 2000 words in my spaced repetition and still can only read basic stuff and still need to look up words. I went from thinking when I know 1000 thousand words I will be good, then when I know 2000 now I am thinking more like 5000.
When the word list comes out, it'll be interesting to see which 2,000 words we need to know well.
What you say about 1,000 words is more true than when so-called 'experts' years ago would suggest that 500 words or so in any language is enough to be able to read and understand a newspaper.
Some more details regarding character requirements for the new HSK. Interesting I thought they were just adding on levels rather than changing character requirements for all levels. Scroll down to see the table. https://ltl-school.com/hsk-levels/
